The relationship between Norman Bates and Chick Hogan.
Overview[]
Season 4[]
Following Norma's death, Norman dug up her corpse and brought it home to the house. Having learned of the death via the locals, Chick called to the house with a chicken enchilada casserole, which he had prepared himself, and noticed Norma's corpse on the couch. He asked Norman if he realized his mother was dead and said that he would return in a few days to check in with him. (Norman)
Season 5[]
Chick called to the house with some apples he picked and went down to the basement with Norman, where the latter showed off his taxidermy and Chick gave him some roadkill, suggesting that they should go into business together and split the profits 50/50.
Later as Chick was writing about Norman in his journal, Caleb arrived and Chick realized he had just learned of Norma's death. A fight broke out between the two men and Caleb said he had warned Norma about Norman being dangerous. Caleb stormed back to the house seeking revenge but when he came across Norma's body in the freezer, Norman knocked him out from behind and a shocked Chick realized that Norman was no longer himself as "Mother" told him "she" was still alive. (The Convergence of the Twain)
While Caleb was being held captive in the basement, Chick told Norman that he had been there for two days and had suffered more blackouts. Chick decided to stay around to do house repairs and to provide Norman with food, even cooking a meal for him and "Mother" while recording their conversation.
When Chick left to run some errands that evening, "Mother" told Norman that Caleb had to die and when Norman was unable to do so, he let his uncle go and it ultimately led to Chick knocking him down after being distracted when he received a text message. (Bad Blood)
After giving Caleb a proper send off, Chick later returned to the Bates house with the intention of moving his belongings in, only to be told by Norman that he was not needed. Norman later paid a visit to his trailer and apologized for being rude to him and saw that he was writing something on his typewriter before asking him if he knew of anywhere that could dispose of abandoned cars. (Hidden)
